Samoset Resort, Maine

Crafted by Bob Elder in 1902, the 18-hole championship golf course at Samoset Resort is celebrated for its sprawling views of Penobscot Bay and nearby islands. Just south of Camden, this tournament-caliber course boasts seven oceanside holes, which can make ocean breezes an issue during play, and meanders through unspoiled green forests on remaining holes. The course’s signature No. 4, a par-5, 503-yard hole that plays alongside Penobscot Bay, was resigned to include a stone seawall that encompasses the green, with added bunkers and elevation. Take a moment to enjoy the sound of crashing ocean waves just a stone’s throw away.

Covering 230 oceanside acres, the resort also offers four-diamond dining, luxury accommodations, health club, message services, and Sam-O-Camp, a children's program with supervised daytime activities.

“With seven oceanside holes and ocean views from 14 of the 18 holes, superior customer service, and perfectly manicured fairways and greens the Samoset is truly a premier New England gold destination,” adds Gary Soule, head golf professional at Samoset.
